Hamilton, 22 December 2016

Air Rarotonga took delivery of a Cessna Citation II business jet in Sydney this week after the aircraft underwent a major inspection and the installation of additional navigation equipment making it suitable for regional charter operations. A Lifeport stretcher installation was also incorporated to equip the aircraft for local and international medivac operations.

The new aircraft and operation will operate under the banner of Pacific Private Jet with long time Air Rarotonga executive Teariki Numanga taking up the role of General Manager.

The Citation was flown to Hamilton NZ on Tuesday, December 20, where it will undergo formalities to enter it onto the Cook Islands aircraft register and commence crew training. The aircraft was originally planned to be in service late in 2016 however delays in equipment delivery and the Christmas break have now pushed the service entry date out to late January.

Air Rarotonga Managing Director Ewan Smith was on hand to take delivery of the airraft from its previous owner, Steve Padgett of Aeromil/AAA Aircraft Pty.
